LUMIX 2: High Intensity Light Treatment

What Is It?

High Intensity Light Therapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical, laser light applied to promote pain relief and tissue healing and repair. The light photons re-activate and accelerate cellular function, acting as a medicine.

High intensity light therapy achieves the best penetration into hard and soft tissues; it does not cut the tissue.

LUMIX 2: The Lumix laser is high intensity light therapy specifically designed for dental applications.

The Lumix 2 lasers systems were cleared by the FDA for clinical use in 2006; they are the first and only FDA-cleared pulsed high intensity laser systems available dedicated for dental use in North America.

What Does It Do?

The Lumix laser has three major applications in dentistry: fast pain relief, reduction of inflammation, and long-term tissue healing.

Pain Relief: Tooth pain is one of the worst pains we can experience. Using the laser on a painful tooth produces almost immediate relief. For teeth that are sensitive and need treatment where local anesthetic is not indicated, use of the laser prior to treatment helps reduce discomfort during the procedure.

Reduction of Inflammation: High intensity light therapy reduces inflammation fast, speeding recovery time and time spent uncomfortable from dental ailments or treatments.

Long-Term Tissue Healing: Therapeutic use with the Lumix 2 laser stimulates the healing process of the tissues in a way not previously possible. Its applications in dental treatment produce impressive results.

How Does It Work?

High intensity light therapy technology produces very high impulses of light in short duration.

This beam penetrates soft and hard tissues and induces cellular pressure waves which signal the production of protein. This reactivates the healing process.

The photons from the beam are absorbed in the cells’ mitochondria which causes them to produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP). This accelerates the healing process.

This is the only technology to reactivate and accelerate cellular function (healing).
